Formed in late 2019 by Matt Roberts, 100 strong has dedicated itself to raising money and awareness for good causes and charities. We have completed 8 core challenges and 2 community challenges since our inception, raising over £30,000 (including gift aid)

Matt Roberts
Founder & Co-ordinator
Matt founded 100 Strong in 2019 and is the only athlete to complete all of the events that have been completed under the 100 Strong banner.
Matt is the head co-ordinator of all things 100 Strong and has often spoken of his will to chase records. Matt has had an exciting sporting life and competed for team GB kickboxing from 2019-2021. He was part of the 100 Strong team who set a record in 2023 who set a record carrying someone with Norrie Disease on Ben Nevis and solo cycled 521 Miles from Fort William to Bristol.

Lee Evans
Athlete
Lee joined the team in late 2020 and has completed Core Event 6, 7 and 8. During his tenure in the 100 Strong team, it has grown from strength to strength.
Lee has an incredible story of his own, surviving a life threatening condition during his teens. These days he is a dad and revels in the role.
Lee was part of the team who set a record carrying someone with Norrie Disease in 2023. He is set to be part of the 2024 event The Extra Mile.

Iain Ballinger
Design & Graphics
Iain 'Bally' Ballinger is the mastermind behind the marketing image and branding behind 100 Strong.
Our strong image and presence in the public eye is largely down to the powerful graphic work done by Bally.
Iain joined the team in 2020 when the rapidly growing entity was in its infancy and the first 100 Strong logo was comleted in early 2020. Since then it has become iconic and the 3-logo circle design has even been tattooed onto founder Matt.

Kris O'Shea

Kris joined the team in 2024 and exploded onto the scene with our first ever roller banners and business cards.
Kris is one half of Quay Digital, a family-run business based in Portishead, North Somerset. Kris and his wife Clare have an amazing story of their own and are now firmly rooted into the 100 Strong network.

Clare O'Shea

Clare joined the team in 2024 and exploded onto the scene with our first ever roller banners and business cards.

Rhiannon Bater
Photography
Rhiannon joined our team in 2021 for the 'Some Like It Hot' challenge and captured the amazing footage of the 'On The Prowl' challenge in 2022.
Rhiannon is building a career as a budding young photographer. Her skills with the camera are impressive for her age and her love for capturing our events has made a difference to us.
Rhiannon captured footage of our 3rd Community Event in 2024, The Mint Room Experience.

Sam Sowden
Athlete (2019-2023)
Sam was a founding part of 100 Strong and endured Core Challenges 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8! During Sam's stint with the team we raised a whopping £30,000 for different causes and charities. Sam was known as the mother of the group and there are many fond memories of the challenges that she completed with the team. Most memorable were challenges 5, 7 and 8.
Sam left the team in the fall of 2023 in order to spend more time with her family as the project took on a bigger and international presence.
Jack Roberts
Guest Athlete (2022)
Jack completed Community event 1 with Matt Roberts (no blood relation) which was the Welsh 3000s Challenge. The boys raised £210 for Llanberis Mountain Rescue Service during this 19-hour endeavour.
Carla Golledge
Guest Athlete (2023)
Carla is the mother of Cameron, who we carried up Ben Nevis in 2023's Race Against Silent Darkness. Carla was pivotal in the success behind challenge 8 raising a whopping £15,593.41, with media presence and a strong connection to the Norrie Disease Foundation.
Adam Alderman
Guest Athlete (2023)
Adam is the father of Cameron, who he and Matt carried up Ben Nevis in 2023's Race Against Silent Darkness. Adam carried Cameron up the first half of the mountain and showed the spirit and fortitude of a lion in setting the record. The event raised a whopping amount of money for The Norrie Disease Foundation.
